Climate Change
I hope to connect carbon free buyers and sellers. What can we do about climate change? 75% of the atmospheric carbon comes from how we use the land. Farming release carbon, and the destruction of forests that once breathed in carbon and out oxygen. We should make sure what we buy is grown carbon friendly. Farmers will comply with new strategies for soil regeneration which will absorb carbon from the atmosphere. The biggest difference you can make is as a buyer, check the carbon footprint before spending.
It's hard to determine the GreenHouse Gases (GHG) of a product at point of sale. It also comprises shipment, parts, technology. What you buy may yet release more carbon having a ppm (parts per million). Try calculating your personal carbon footprint. "The average carbon footprint for a person in the United States is 16 tons..." The Paris Agreement target is 2 tons globally.
The most important carbon emitter for us to address today is our use of the land as it contributes 75% of carbon emissions. We could more slowly ween off fossil fuels and other carbon emitters if we quickly address land use. Perhaps we should save the Amazon forest. We can return the atmospheric carbon to the land and restore the planet to a pre global warming state.
